What I Do:
STYLE: I blend a laid-back, affectionate, and joyful photography style, with a keen directorial eye for capturing natural, organic connections & traditional family portraiture that highlight the beauty of your family in whatever location you choose (in-home or at one of my preferred locations).
EDITING: modern and clean, bright and contrasty, I also love a dramatic black and white.
EXPERIENCE: As a mother of seven children (ages 1-22), I understand every aspect of motherhood: from pregnancy to newborns, from toddlers to teens and from college kids to young adults, I get it! My extended experience workings with kids of all ages, stages and diagnoses, allows me to bring a sense of knowledge, understanding and patience when working with families.
Where It All Began:
BACKGROUND: My passion for photography sparked in high school, armed with my first manual, Nikon SLR, film camera and the magic of a real darkroom, I dreamed of capturing photojournalistic stories around the world.
EDUCATION: This passion led me to study photography at the University of Miami, FL, in the Visual Communication department, where I dabbled in photographing everything from youth sports, to real estate events to weddings and eventually to maternity, newborn and families.
BUSINESS: It was after the arrival of my third child, in 2007, that I decided to chase my dream, birthing Athena Scott Photography in Palm Beach County, FL. Fast forward to 2021, I’ve evolved into Athena Leila Photography, embarking on a fresh start in the vibrant South Tampa metropolitan area, eager to weave new photography ventures into my portfolio.
